Usage

This belt is crafted from natural wool and should be hand-washed in cool water.
Please take extra care when washing garments trimmed with it. The braid is woven from new wool thread dyed in intense colors, which may bleed and stain other fabrics if not handled gently.

Shipment

We send out all items as quickly as possible — usually within a few days (excluding made-to-order pieces).
Please note that we have no control over postal delivery times. Occasionally, shipping may take several days, over a dozen in some cases, or even longer — especially during holidays.
We always provide tracking information so you can follow your parcel’s status in real time.

What’s that thing?

This krajka is made using a rigid heddle — a simple type of loom consisting of a wooden board with holes and slits.
This ancient tool was used across many cultures and is considered a prototype of the modern loom.
Braids made in this way were common in ancient times, throughout the Middle Ages, and even into more recent history. Today, they are still used as decorative elements in traditional folk costumes.
There were many regional variations and color schemes. For technological reasons, rigid heddle looms were primarily used to weave striped patterns.
Among the Slavic peoples, striped belts and garments were especially popular — a tradition still visible in the folk costumes of Central and Eastern Europe. In terms of use and cultural role, these local striped textiles are comparable to the famous Scottish tartans.

We make each of our products by hand, so no two are alike. Your piece will be unique and may slightly differ from those in the photos.
